Direct Architectural Relationship
Most single-family dwellings in Jeddah are located on common plots of land, often with an aspect to a road. With privacy being paramount, there is little interaction with the street or surrounding buildings, and a lot of architectural relationships have to be developed along the site itself.
FS villa is a reflection of the family’s lifestyle, and the design includes spaces that provide a degree of privacy within and around the villa. The two brick sections have more private functions and include a more permeable and less formal space between them to include the entrance, family living room, children’s play room and a courtyard that brings light to all parts of the house. Define, and the back side exits the garden and pool.
Materials used for the project: concrete, brick & wood are all left on both the inside and the outside. The choice of brick, in particular, in proportion to that of a human hand and not common in modern Saudi Arabia, was used because of its architectural clarity and the alignment between the customer’s philosophy on life.
